Sustainability, Quality, Product Safety

  • Hesse GmbH assumes its responsibility for the economic, environmental and social needs of current and future generations and is committed to acting in a sustainable manner.
  • We therefore attach particular importance to constantly controlling and improving the quality of our products. We expect our employees to deal responsibly with potential risks and to report them to their manager.

Environmental Policy

Hesse GmbH and its subsidiaries regard environmental protection as an integral part of their commitment to the quality of work, products and relationships. Listed below are the environmental protection measures that are mandatory for all departments in the company at Hesse GmbH and its subsidiaries.
We believe that by integrating solid environmental practices into all aspects of our business, we can provide technologically innovative products while preserving and enhancing resources for future generations. Furthermore, we believe that management and all employees are equally responsible for environmental protection measures. Hesse GmbH is committed to the following:

  • Complying with all applicable local environmental laws and regulations and, where possible, identifying other environmental issues to be considered
  • Continuous improvement of production facilities
  • The consumption of energy sources and water should be determined by means of a continuous improvement analysis and potential savings identified
  • Cross-departmental measures with the aim of generating less waste – including by optimizing direct and indirect deliveries, promoting the ecological design of our products and packaging, aiming for returnable packaging, better waste separation and increasing the recyclable proportion of our waste
  • Measures to achieve the goal of “zero environmental accidents”, e.g. by training employees in the appropriate storage and management of raw materials and products
  • Determining our carbon emissions with the aim of reducing our operational carbon footprint
  • Working with our stakeholders to protect their environmental interests – incorporating their suggestions to improve our operations and help reduce our own environmental footprint
  • Setting reasonable, achievable, appropriate and economically viable environmental principles and targets – Regular review to continuously improve environmental performance
  • Considering environmental impact, where practicable, in our planning, procurement and operational decisions to minimize the generation of waste, pollution and any negative impact on community or environmental well-being

Social commitment

  • Hesse GmbH believes responsible corporate governance also includes social commitment. We therefore support selected non-profit institutions and initiatives.
  • We do not make donations in the expectation of a service or a decision in our favor or as a quid pro quo for such a decision. Hesse GmbH, in principle, makes no donations to political parties, politicians or political organizations.

Safe and healthy working conditions is of highest priority at Hesse, because our most important and valuable resource is our staff. The primary focus of our concept targets prevention. Our goal is the creation of a safe work environment and the avoidance of work-related accidents. The Hesse operational health management shall strengthen physical and mental health. Family friendliness is part of our everyday practice. We support our employees in balancing family and career by offering flexible working hours,

the option of part-time work and home office days, and subsidize all of our employees’ kindergarten/daycare children with a monthly allowance towards childcare costs.

In 2023, we once again received the award as a family-friendly company from the OWL Women and Work Competence Center, the Ostwestfalen-Lippe Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Bielefeld, the Ostwestfalen-Lippe Chamber of Crafts in Bielefeld and the Paderborn district and will continue our commitment to the family concerns of our employees in the coming years.

Hesse GmbH was awarded the IHK seal “Excellent Bicycle Friendly”. The award is intended to recognize the company’s commitment to promoting bicycle traffic and creating a bicycle-friendly environment as well as its awareness of climate protection and sustainability.
